Prismacolor car sketch by Robo Squirrel

This is a very good sketch made by Robo Squirrel using Prismacolor pencils. I decided to start the new year with this sketch post because lately many of you wrote to me asking about “how to” make a nice pencil sketch. I answeared to you about using “hard” and “soft” same pencil colors explaining to use the “hard” one for line constructions and the “soft” one to mark the sketch and styling . Than I also wrote about doing a shading to give a 3D effect to your sketch using always the same “soft” color pencil.
In the sketch made by Squirrel you find all those tips together. As you can see we have light line constructions and also the sketch itself done with the soft color pencil, we have a nice shadow on the ground that is also the background (it seats well the car on the ground giving contrast), we have a cool shading that shows well the shape of the car and some good details (like front grill).

Now you have a good example of car sketch made with color pencils, try to copy it even using a different color if you feel (like tuscan red or black).
