I know that some of you will not agree with my position about Engineering students getting a Master in Transportation Design and feeling ready for a car design job. As you know I do not believe it is the right school career plan to become car designers.
Of course, we have several exceptions, great designers that come from Engineering and Architecture universities and some of them are today in important design studios. Flavio Manzoni VP Design at Ferrari Design is a very well known example, brilliant designer coming from an Italian Architecture university
However, those cases are really few. They are exceptions, to become designers or car designers you need a Design school Bachelor.
To become a car designer means to find the right design school (here a list) and follow specific types of courses. It is not just about going to a University, it is about a particular method and way of thinking.
Too many people still asking about what type of school career plan adopt to become a car designer, and too many still believe that the best way is to start an Engineering University to shift later to a Master in Car Design. This is wrong!
