today I had my visit to the Mondial Paris Motor Show and I made a short video to show you some of the show highlights.
The queen concept it is the EZ ULTIMO by Renault and the all renault stand because all the concepts showed a future vision of the company strategy to come. Lots of creativity and pure good Design, from luxury concept to a future LCV delivery system, lots of technology and new materials.
Elena Nappi Yacht Concept Project – La Sapienza University Rome Italy
At the MYDA 2018 several boat designers & Studio Designs have won the international prize presenting projects rich in technologies, new architectures and with an eye to new Design Trends.
Elena Nappi‘s project Carapace goes in this direction with a strong creative approach that makes the perfect synthesis of all 3 main elements: Technology, Architecture & Trends.
The new Exterior Design language is a good example of boat design evolution, closer to Car Design and contemporary Architecture. The Interior Design modern and respectful of typical new luxury design codes such as the spaces organization and their use or the refined materials choices.
Watching this video we can all understand why and how a project is made, it is not a question of simple style. It is a deeper look into a problem solving The congested cities in China & the enemy N°1 the traffic!
This Concept called Reds EV is one of the answers, not the only one, however it is a realistic good answer.
The concept thinking is to start from the inside. The passengers’ life is the priority, an easier life onboard even if stuck into a traffic jam. It is the interior architecture that will define the exterior shape, the openings (side doors and back door) are important to help for better ergonomics, at so on.
The Design thinking process is the key of this project not its style and I guess it was not meant to be the most good looking car in the world, but the vehicle with real answers to a real problem.
IED Turin Italy – Riccardo Balbo school director welcomes new students
October is the month, during which, many Design Schools and Universities open their doors to start a new academic year.
There are the fresh new young students dreaming to start finally they beloved Design training experience, those that have to continue their courses (the ones in the middle of their journey), and those that at the end of this year will just finish school to start a new adventure getting a real designer job.
My advice to all design students is to work hard with strong sense of responsibility. Remember why you are there, stay concentrate on your objectives, you are in a magical place that will help you to get out the best of your skills, talent, and determination to become a designer.
Listen to your teachers, however move on and also listen to your heart. Be respectful, but be competitive, don’t give up learning by your mistakes.
You choose a very special professional career and also a vary rare one so work your ass off to hope you will deserve a place in a design studio somewhere some day in your life.
The new Lada X-CODE concept came out and some of the original sketches have been released to the Press.
I wanted to show this one in particular because of its excellent quality, the author of these sketches is car designer, and Lada Design studio Chief in Moscow, Raphael Linari.
Raphael is an ex student of mine during my teaching in Torino before going to France, and I kept a beautiful souvenir of Raphael’s school time because of his talent and most of all his deep dedication in accomplishing his mission to become a car designer.
He made quickly great progress and got his first internship at Ford in Germany, once he graduated it was easy for him to find a job. After many years we became colleagues in Renault, small world!
Today Raphael is the Lada Studio Design Chief in Moscow and works with design director Steve Mattin.
