Many of you lately are asking me to talk about mood boards as part of design project presentations. What are they there for? Why do we have to think about a mood board for our design project presentation? What about how to make one?
In this video I try to explain the useful use of a mood board in a design presentation.
In this video I show how, in less than 10 minutes, you could make a car sketch to doodle your ideas. I used a Blue soft color pencil Faber Castel (you can use also a Prismacolor). I added for shadows a dark Blue marker and a light Blue marker for some body shading to read better the volumes of this car sketch. Enjoy this car sketch tutorial video.
a new video about a car sketch tutorial made in 3 steps. This time I used a felt tip pen for Step 1 for a rugh linework and proportion study in side view. Step 2 is done with a light marker thin point making all necessary corrections, and step 3 is done with a blue soft color pencil Faber Castel or Prismacolor to apply a final quality finish giving enphasis to line quality and shading. A light background to frame well the composition on page.
Todays topic in our DESIGNtalk is about Scolarships, Masters & Online car design courses.
Some of you asked me to talk about those topics and here I am with my technical analysis. Scolarships give you a great opportunity to be in any good design school without paying for it. With a scolarship tuition is offered or partially offered. In order to apply you have to get info via design schools websites and follow their instructions.
Your application portfolio will be the key element to be selected. It is a hard talent competition and for this reason you have to give the best of yourself in terms of presentation and talent. It is about your skills level.
Master programs in Universities or Design schools can be very useful but be carefull because to become a car designer most of times a Master is not enough. In this video I explain why.
Online car design courses are very positive because they give you the opportunity to find a way to exercise and learn a speciphic topic with a dedicated online teacher. It is a way to invest little money to improuve on your own your drawing skills.
