It is time to talk again about Car Design Schools around the globe and how to chose the right one. Since few years there are few new openings and some schools that are not really doing their job. In some countries (India) there is a misunderstinding of the word Design associated to Engineering Universities and some young design students find them in the wrong school. So, just watch the video and think about some of criterias to check before you take your decision.
Yesterday I showed you the final picture of this Copic Markers car Sketch and now here we have the full video on my Youtube channel. Yes , if you want you can check step by step how I made this nice color car sketch using my Copic markers. Luciano Bove
I was showing this type of perspective to one of my online course student and decided to finish it using Copic Markers.
What is really interesting to watch is the warm and cool areas that help to read the tridimensional effect. Focal Point is just on the rear left corner on the rear lights. A nice dark shaded simple background helps to pop up the car out of the paper.
This is full video of my exchange about Design style with ID students from TU/e University in Eindhoven hosted by Martjin van de Wiel. It has been really a pleasure to talk about designer’s style in terms of sketching expression attitude personal developped style and presentations skills with the students. Enjoy the video.
many of you lately are asking me about New Mobility and how Cardesign will change in this changing world. The new challenges, society’s changes, new rules, new behaviours, a better future cleaner planet, new technologies, connectivity, new scenarios…. How is it going to be? Most important, how should you reinvent the transportation system to have a portfolio with the right projects considering future mobilities scenarios? In this video I tell about some of main topics to consider while you are in school making your projects. What inspiration? Which mission? Which orientation? With all changes acting we have to think about a new industrial design strategy plan and we need new technologies which will lead us to new orientations. So, do you have a vision? Did you think that your portfolio will not be a simple car projects’ collection? Think about it.
Today it is really hard to find the famous good old Vincent Vellum paper we used in school.
So, searching I found a “similar” paper made by Canson, it is called Calque and it is a tracing paper.
Yesterday, during my online interactive course, I tried it using the same old good Viscom technique we used in school (working on both sides palying with the transparency). This is the result and honestly it is not bad.
